Hurricanes are circular air movements over the warm ocean waters in warm ocean that is near the equator. Hurricanes can go by many different names:
-In the Atlantic Ocean they are called Hurricanes
-In the Pacific Ocean they are called Typhoons
-In the Indian Ocean they are called Cyclones
Hurricanes are caused when warm, moist ocean air rises. It begins as a group of storm winds then when the water gets to around 25 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit), the winds begin to spiral and usually heads westward.
